FAQs

Q: How much does it cost to build a well?

A: Most of our projects cost $3,000.

Q: How much will help one person get clean drinking water?

A: On average it costs $10 to give one person clean drinking water for 20 years in a developing country.

Q: Can I pick the location where my well is built?

A: Since we want to make sure that your donations most effectively impact the people in the most need, we are not able to grant location requests up front. However, once the funds have been raised, we will discuss current needs in our focus countries.

Q: Will I be able to put an inscription on the well that I fund?

A: If you raise over $3,000…YES! We can put up to 50 characters on most of our well projects (i.e. “In Honor of the Williams Family” or “donated by Jefferson High School”. Once you raise the funds we will contact you for the details!

Q: What’s the difference between a campaign page and a fundraising page?

A: The fundraising page is what you create and where people give to your page. The Campaigns are how Generosity Water keeps track of different programs (i.e. our Students Campaign, our Monthly Donors, our Run for Water). If you simply want to start your own page, start it under “Individual Fundraisers.”

Q: How do I spread the word about my fundraiser?

A: Telling people about it in-person is normally the best way to get friends and family involved, but for more fundraising tips visit our tips page.
