Fundraising Tips
Share Your Vision
Think about why YOU want to help people get clean water; why it is important to you. Then share these reasons with PASSION. People will get excited if you are excited. Don’t be embarrassed to share how you’re changing people lives!
Set a Goal
Be aggressive! People are more likely to get on board with a big vision than a small one. But people also want to know that your goal can realistically be reached. Consider both of these when setting your goal. (Remember each well project costs $3,000)
Partner with Friends
It’s always more fun to do it together. Working with your friends increases your circle of influence and your potential to raise more money and fund more wells.
Make it Personal
Don’t just spam people with links, mass emails or mass texts--people can recognize those by now. Sitting down and having a conversation is the best way to get others involved. If you need to use technology (phone, text, email, etc) for communication, make it personal!
Employ Social Media
Use your social networks like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and email to tell people about what you are doing. Make use of our videos, photos, and links to get word out to more people. You never know who might be intrigued by the cause.
Stay positive
Some people will say no to you, some will tell you it’s not worth it. But persevere and fight for those without water. Your persistence and enthusiasm will save lives. Don’t give up!
